“What is Tai Chi?” The answer to this depends on who is being questioned, because it is different things to different people. To some it is a hobby, to others it is a way of life. There are people who would consider it a sedentary form of exercise while to others it is a highly effective form of martial art. Other ways to describe it would be a form of moving meditation, an internal workout or a Chi development program. It is a low impact form of exercise, it is a means of internal massage. Tai Chi encourages you to stretch and contract muscles, sinews, and organs. The correct usage of Tai Chi will help to align your posture which is always good for overall health. Of great importance in Tai Chi is breath control in order to develop “Chi” or internal energy, so as well as learning Tai Chi forms you will also learn a series of Chi Gung (Breath work) exercises. So to be able to give a quick and definitive answer as to “what is Tai Chi “, would be impossible. Tai Chi properly practiced is a great stress reliever and using proper body alignment and training techniques will keep us as fit as daily jogging and weights. Alongside of Tai Chi practice comes the awareness of our own body and the needs that we require to get through each day, be this in nutrition, rest, or stress management. Tai Chi is a very good system to help in each of these areas. The style we teach is the original Chen style. We teach the original "Old Frame" direct from Master Zhu Tian Cai including 42 Fai Jing Form, Tai Chi Sword Form and Short & Long Form from Master Chen Xiaowang, Come along and experience it for yourself.
