Rising Dragon is a family orientated martial arts school based in Auckland, New Zealand. We service West Auckland, including Blockhouse Bay, Titirangi, Laingholm, Glen Eden and all of the greater Waitakere area. We have experienced instructors who love to teach and have a real passion for the arts. The school is just one big happy family with everyone helping each other. Children, mums and dads all train and its fantastic to have a great community spirit within our dojo.
Our history begins in Shaolin Kempo 14 years ago but we have recently incorporated Jeff Speakmans Kenpo 5.0 international organisation with 21 countries worldwide to give more opportunity to our students and to continually evolve and keep up to date with the latest self defence techniques. The combination of both arts brings you a complete all round martial art system which includes practical self defence, forms, ground fighting, weaponry, conditioning, fighting, shaolin kung fu, and enough variety to keep everyone interested.
We have specialised classes for all students starting with the "Little Dragons" from 5 years of age. We also offer the gentle healing art of Tai Chi which is great for adults who want to stay active, de-stress and learn a new way of moving and breathing.
Martial arts is great for discipline, self confidence, health, physical fitness and strength. Learn effective martial arts in a fun and practical way whilst learning valuable life skills.
We strive for excellent tuition, encouragement, enjoyment, excitement, enthusiasm and equality in every class.
